SFI, DYFI Stage Dharna In Jammu
THE Jammu regional units of Democratic Youth Federation of India and Students Federation of India staged a daylong dharna in front of the office of Jammu divisional commissioner. The action was part of the all-India call of these organisations to protest the union government’s move to saffronise education and its policies that are generating mass scale unemployment. The SFI and DYFI cadres were also protesting against the increase of fee in educational institutions and the ban imposed on new recruitments in the public sector and government departments.
Prominent participants included Kishore Kumar (president, DYFI), Ghanshyam Singh (president, SFI), Om Prakash (secretary, SFI), Parveen Kumar, Suresh Chaudhary and Jatinder Kumar. Bishan Dass and Hari Chand Jhalmeria of the CPI(M) also addressed the dharna.
