A
HUGE
demonstration
is
planned
against
the
USA's
relentless
move
towards
a
full
fledged
military
attack
on
Iraq.
Under
the
auspices
of
the
broad
based
Committee
Against
War
On
Iraq,
comprising
various
political
parties,
organisations
and
prominent
individuals,
the
protest
demonstration
will
be
held
before
the
American
Centre,
New
Delhi
on
February
10.
The
Committee
Against
War
on
Iraq,
which
was
constituted
in
October
2002,
had
earlier
organised
a
demonstration
in
New
Delhi
on
November
14,
2002.
The
Committee
which
held
a
meeting
on
January
20,
2003,
to
take
stock
of
the
latest
developments,
has
decided
to
step
up
its
activities
to
mobilise
the
people
and
oppose
the
war.
The
protest
demonstration
before
the
American
Centre
at
Kasturba
Gandhi
Marg
on
February
10
will
form
part
of
the

Indian

to
oppose
the
war.
Participants
will
assemble
at
the
Mandi
House
at
11.30
a
m
and

The
Committee
Against
War
On
Iraq
said:
“The
US
President,
George
Bush
has
virtually
declared
war
against
Iraq.
Bush
has
made
it
clear
that
if
the
UN
Security
Council
does
not
dance
to
the
beat
of
his
war
drum
by
mid-February,
the
US
will
unilaterally
launch
war
against
Iraq.
Military
preparations
for
this
blatant
aggression
are
in
full
swing.
The
US
has
gone
to
the
extent
of
threatening
use
of
nuclear
weapons
against
Iraq.
The
world
can
expect
the
US
and
its
pliant
junior
partner
Britain
to
attack
anytime
after
February
15.
The
UN
inspectors
were
unable
to
find
any
evidence
of
weapons
of
mass
destruction
in
Iraq.
The
US
assertion
that
the
war
against
Iraq
is
part
of
its
worldwide
war
on
terror
is
a
deliberate
lie.
Similarly
the
propaganda
that
it
poses
a
military
threat
to
the
West
is
ridiculous
in
the
extreme.
Why
then
is
the
US
hell
bent
on
invading
Iraq?
The
real
purpose
is
to
control
Iraq’s
oil
resources
and
advance
US
interests
in
the
region.
Plans
have
already
been
made
to
replace
Saddam
Hussein
with
a
lackey
regime
of
the
US.
All
this
is
part
of
the
American
designs
to
establish
worldwide
political,
economic
and
military
hegemony.
Anything
standing
in
the
way
of
these
designs
is
sought
to
be
demolished
by
force.”
