has
faxed
two
letters
to
J
M
Lyngdoh,
Chief
Election
Commissioner
on
February
4
informing
him
of
the
deep
nexus
between
the
outlawed
ISI-backed
NLFT
insurgent
group
and
the
Congress-INPT
combine
in
the
Tripura
assembly
elections.
In
his
second
letter,
while
detailing
the
incidents
of
killing,
kidnapping,
arson,
intimidation
etc
being
resorted
to
by
the
extremists
since
the
declaration
of
the
poll
schedule
on
January
11,
Majumder
demanded
immediate
deployment
of
adequate
armed
forces,
including
Army
to
combat
the
insurgent
forces
in
the
state.
He
also
wanted
the
sealing
of
the
entire
856
km
long
Indo-Bangladesh
border
so
that
the
anti-national
elements
from
the
neighbouring
country
cannot
make
their
way
into
Tripura
to
vitiate
the
peaceful
election
process.
Majumder
has
also
called
for
an
immediate
inquiry
into
the
anti-national
activities
of
the
Congress-INPT
and
steps
to
ensure
that
the
democratic
poll
process
is
not
vitiated.
A
copy
of
this
letter
has
also
been
sent
to
the
deputy
prime
minister
and
union
home
minister
L
K
Advani.
The
Congress
party-Indigenous
Nationalist
Party
of
Tripura
(INPT)
combine
and
ISI
backed
outlawed
NLFT
insurgents,
Majumder
said
in
his
letter,
“have
direct
nexus
and
the
combine
is
taking
the
help
of
NLFT
insurgents
in
the
ensuing
Tripura
Legislative
election.”
The
letter
details
that
in
August
2001,
some
Tripura
Tribal
Areas
Autonomous
District
Council
Executives
Members
belong
to
INPT
and
some
other
INPT
leaders
sent
as
many
as
64
students
of
different
Degree
colleges
of
Agartala
and
Tripura
Engineering
College
to
NLFT
camp
in
Chittagong
Hills
Track,
Bangladesh
for
undergoing
arms
and
explosive
training
with
a
declared
objective
of
overthrowing
the
elected
state
government
of
Tripura.
A
conspiracy
case
against
them
under
various
sections
of
IPC
and
Arms
and
Explosive
Act
is
pending
before
the
sub-divisional
Judicial
Magistrate,
Amarpur,
South
Tripura
District
and
the
police
has
already
filed
chargesheet
in
this
case.
One
of
the
accused
in
this
case
of
conspiracy
against
the
State,
Rajeswar
Debbarma
of
INPT
has
been
nominated
as
Congress-INPT
combine’s
candidate
for
12-Takarjala
(Scheduled
Tribe
Reserved)
assembly
constituency.
On
February
1,
while
some
of
the
accused
in
the
case
of
conspiracy
against
the
State
were
coming
from
Amarpur
SDJM’s
court
after
getting
bail,
Nagendra
Jamatia,
MLA
of
INPT
and
a
Congress-INPT
combine
candidate
for
42-
Ampinagar
(Scheduled
Tribe
Reserved)
assembly
constituency
took
them
to
Old
Kasku
area,
Taidu,
South
Tripura
district
and
held
a
secret
meeting
with
the
accused
persons.
Thereafter,
the
accused
persons
started
terrorising
the
people
to
work
for
INPT
candidate.
The
letter
also
pointed
out
another
case.
Narendra
Chandra
Debbaramahas
been
nominated
as
Congress-INPT
combine
candidate
for
18
Charilam
(Scheduled
Tribe
Reserved)
assembly
constituency.
Debbarma
was
a
former
station
director
of
All
India
Radio,
Agartala.
During
his
tenure
as
a
station
director
of
AIR,
he
illegally
and
secretly
made
several
trips
to
NLFT
camp
inside
Bangladesh
territory.
During
the
months
of
October
and
December
last
year
he
made
two
trips
inside
Bangladesh,
it
is
reported.
The
state
police
and
different
central
government
security
agencies
informed
the
union
home
ministry
about
his
illegal
trips
to
NLFT
hideout
inside
Bangladesh.
The
letter
adds
that
Ananta
Debbarma
of
INPT
had
been
nominated
as
Congress-INPT
combine
candidate
for
23
Ramchandraghat
(Scheduled
Tribe
Reserved)
assembly
constituency.
He
is
a
frequent
visitor
to
NLFT
camp
inside
Bangladesh
territory.
The
state
police
and
different
central
government
secret
agencies
working
in
the
state
also
filed
a
report
to
the
union
home
ministry
about
his
anti-national
activities.
