CPI(M) Expresses Solidarity With DPRK
THE
Communist Party of India (Marxist) organised a meeting on September 5, at its
central office in New Delhi on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the
founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. In this meeting, the
senior party leaders expressed their solidarity with DPRK and its people and
warned the American imperialists to desist from conspiring against the socialist
system of DPRK. A large number of party workers and activists participated in
the meting. On this occasion an exhibition of photographs was also organised.
Polit
Bureau members of the CPI(M) Sitaram Yechury and M K Pandhe and DPRK’s
ambassador to India addressed the meeting. Hari Singh Kang, member Central
Committee of the Party presided over the meeting. In a resolution passed in the
meeting, the CPI(M) warmly congratulated Comrade Kim Jong II on his unanimous
re-election to the post of the chairman of the National Defence commission of
DPRK. The resolution is as follows:
This
meeting organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), on the occasion of
the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea, warmly congratulates the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il on
his unanimous re-election to the highest post of the Chairman of the National
Defence Commission of DPRK.
In
the current situation, when the US imperialism is actively trying to destabilise
the socialist regime in DPRK, this unanimous re-election of Com. Kim Jong Il as
Chairman of the N.D.C. is a very significant event.
This will help in further strengthening the defence of Socialist Korea.
Prior
to this on September 1, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, general secretary, CPI(M) sent
the following message of greetings
to Comrade Kim Jong II, general secretary, Workers Party of Korea:
On
the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic
of Korea, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)
conveys its warmest greetings to you and through you to the Central Committee of
the Workers Party of Korea and the people of the DPRK.
We
recall with pride the long, arduous and heroic struggle that the Korean people,
under the leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung waged to liberate Korea from
Japanese occupation. The success in this struggle resulted in the formation of
the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The
Korean people had to wage another bitter struggle, a few years later. This time
it was against the US imperialist's manoeuvres in the Korean peninsula. The
people of Korea again heroically fought back the imperialist machinations and
foiled its evil designs.
The
success of the revolution saw the people of the DPRK under the leadership of the
Workers Party of Korea, first headed by Comrade Kim Il Sung and later by you,
striving to build socialism, basing
on the concrete conditions prevailing in Korea, in what is known as the Juche
idea. The success achieved is shown by the fact that a once backward economy has
been turned into a fast developing socialist economy.
However,
till today, imperialist manoeuvres, continue to keep the Korean people divided.
Attempts and conspiracies to destabilise the socialist regime in DPRK by
imperialists, US in particular, continue unabated. The DPRK while successfully
resisting all such attempts has also taken important initiatives for the
reunification of the Korean peninsula.
We
have noted the outcome of the six nation talks held at Beijing recently. We are
sure that the next round of talks would bring out positive results.
We
are confident that in the days ahead, the Korean people will further consolidate
the gains of socialism in DPRK and also achieve the national goal of the
reunification of the Korean peninsula.
The
Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) once again conveys
its greetings to you, the Workers Party of Korea and the People of Korea, on
this occasion.
