Parties Programmes In WSF
THE CPI(M) and the CPI are organising certain events and programmes within WSF frame and outside in order to project communist alternatives to imperialist globalisation. The WSF 2004, is being held in Mumbai from January 16-21, 2004.
More
than 75,000 people are expected to gather in Mumbai for the five day event of
which, 71,779 people – 23,313 of them from outside India – have already
registered with the forum, which will be held at the NESCO grounds in Goregaon.
The forum will feature at least 1,200 seminars, in addition to large public
conferences and meetings that will be attended by upto 20,000 people.
On
January 17, a panel discussion, co-chaired by the CPI and the Communist Party of
Cuba, will be held on “Socialism Today; Challenges”
In
this discussion, speakers from CPI(M), Communist Party of China, Communist Party
of Brazil and other parties will take part.
On
January 18, a seminar on “Socialist Economy” will be held. It will be
co-chaired by the CPI and the French Communist Party while speakers include from
CPI(M), Communist Party of Vietnam, Communist Party of Cuba and others.
January
19 will see another seminar on “New Imperialism in World Today”.
It will be co-chaired by the CPI(M) and the Communist Party of USA and
speakers include from CPI, Communist Party of Portugal, Communist Party of
Greece and others.
A
public meeting will be held on January 20, which will be addressed by Harkishen
Singh Surjeet, general secretary, CPI(M), A B Bardham, general secretary, CPI, N
D Patil, general secretary, Peasant and Workers Party along with the
representatives of the fraternal communist and workers parties
Many
international parties are taking part in these programmes.
