CPI(M) Candidates List For Kerala
THE Kerala state committee of the CPI(M) has announced the list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Two sitting MPs T Govindan from Kasargode and N K Premajam from Vadakara have been replaced. Central Committee member and General Manager of Deshabimani, P Karunakaran will be the Party’s candidate from Kasargode while advocate P Sati Devi is being fielded in place of Professor Premajam. All the seven other sitting MPs have been renominated, including the CPI(M)-supported independent, Sebastin Paul, who won the Ernakulam seat in a by-election recently.
Apart from Sati Devi, C S Sujata is the other woman candidate in the list of 14 seats that the CPI(M) is contesting in the state. Last time Professor Premajam was the only woman candidate. Sujata will be contesting from Mavelikkara. Last time the CPI(M) had supported independent candidate Professor Ninan Koshy in this seat. Excepting P M Ismail who has been renominated to contest from Moovatupuzha, candidates for Manjeri, Mukundapuram and Alleppey have also been changed. P K Hamsa comes in place of I T Najeeb in Manjeri, K S Manoj in place of Murali in Alappuzha and Lonappan Nambadan in place of E M Sreedharan in Mukundapuram
