Police’s Unauthorised Raid
On
CPI(M) State Office
THE
Bihar state secretariat of the CPI(M) strongly condemned the unauthorised
raid on its state office by armed policemen on the midnight of June 3, 2004. It
called for a statewide demonstrations on June 9 in protest.
After
an emergency meeting held on June 4, the secretariat said this raid amounted to
infringement of the fundamental right to association and it was a blatant
interference in the functioning of a national recognized party.
The
police had conducted this raid without any search warrant. The state leaders
have informed the leaders of Party in Lok Sabha and Bihar assembly asking them
to take up this matter seriously.
The
state secretariat meeting was presided over by the Party state secretary, Ganesh
Shankar Vidyarthi. (INN)
