Youth Rally In Srinagar For Jobs
THE
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Youth Federation (JKDYF) held a huge rally in
Srinagar demanding fulfillment of the promises made by the state government
regarding providing employment and education to the youth. JKDYF district units
of Srinagar, Budgam and Kupwara organised the rally.
Hundreds
of youth marched from Pratap Park to DC office via the historic Lal Chowk,
carrying banners and flags of the organisation and shouting slogans against
gross violations of human rights and indiscrimination meted to the educated
unemployed youth of the state. One of the demands they raised included a
institution of a judicial probe into the custodial killings and disappearances.
Addressing
the rally, JKDYF president Mohammad Maqbool Gania demanded that ministers, MLAs
and MLCs must be strictly barred from interfering in the recruitment process. He
also advocated strengthening of state subordinate services and speedy
implementation of employment package. Expressing anguish over unabated violence
in the state, Gania demanded setting up of an enquiry commission to look into
the cases of custodial killings and disappearances.
JKDYF
vice president Kishore Kumar in his speech stressed that India and Pakistan must
resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the people of the
state.
Among
others who addressed the rally included Mohammad Ashraf Bakhshi, JKDYF Srinagar
district president, Mohammad Afzal, Anantnag district president, Abdul Rashid,
Pulwama district president and Parvez Subhan, Budgam district president. (INN)
