CPI(M) Condemns Terror Attack In Bangalore
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on December 29, 2005.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its shock and con demnation at the terrorist attack in the Indian Institute of Science campus in Bangalore. The premeditated assault using grenades and AK-47 has resulted in the killing of a retired IIT professor of Delhi and serious injuries to five others. That this outrage has been perpetrated in a premier scientific and academic institution is a cause for deep concern.
The Bangalore incident is a clear indication that the terrorist groups are diversifying their targets for attack. The central government and the security forces will have to take this into account when working out a strategy to counter the terrorist activities.
The Polit Bureau conveys its heartfelt sympathy to the family members of Professor Puri and wishes those injured in the attack a speedy recovery.
