Air Attacks Condemned
Sitaram Yechury, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member has issued the following statement on March 16, 2006
THE
CPI(M) strongly condemns the vicious, aggressive air attacks, the largest
operations since 2003, mounted by the USA against Iraq. Despite the fact that
Iraq is under US military occupation, US imperialism requires to take recourse
to such massive operation in order to suppress the popular resistance. It is
utterly reprehensible that massive loss of innocent lives is taking place as a
consequence of USA’s efforts to consolidate its illegal and inhuman occupation
of Iraq.
This should serve as an eye-opener to the Indian government regarding the actual designs of US imperialism and its global strategies. The US government’s pressure on India and Russia not to enter into an arrangement for the supply of uranium clearly vindicates the CPI(M) position that the USA would use the recent nuclear deal for its infamous carrot and stick policy.
