LF Govt’s Departments Reassigned

TWO departments originally assigned to chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee have been reassigned to ministers Nirupam Sen and Mohanta Chatterjee.  Commerce and industries minister Nirupam Sen will now hold additional charge of development and planning department. Environment minister Mohanta Chatterjee will have additional responsibility for the horticulture and food processing department.

The changes were earlier made clear during the occasion the list of Bengal LF ministers was announced.  As Biman Basu had pointed out then, it was necessary to reassign a few of the departments being held by the chief minister to his colleagues to lighten Buddhadeb’s load.
