Karat, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued
the following statement on July 6, 2006
THE decision of the UPA government not to proceed with the disinvestments of shares in Neyveli Lignite Corporation and Nalco is welcome. We congratulate the employees of the two public sector undertakings for their firm struggle against the disinvestments. We appreciate the stand taken by the Tamilnadu chief minister M Karunanidhi in defence of the public sector.
