CPI (M) Supports The Demand For Reduction Of Diesel Price
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on January 7, 2009
The strike of truck operators has disrupted transport of supplies. The strike has been called by the Motor Transport Congress on the demand for reduction of price of diesel, rationalisation of service tax and a bail-out package for the sector.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI (M) supports the demand for reduction of price of diesel. This should be done forthwith. It calls upon the government to immediately discuss with the representatives of the motor transport association for the settlement of their other demands, so that the strike can be called off.
