Central Leaders Campaign In Maharashtra
AS
the campaign for Maharashtra state
assembly polls entered the last phase,
a series of election rallies were held in which the central leaders of
the
CPI(M) participated. Party general secretary Prakash Karat addressed
meetings
in Andheri East, Mumbai on October 4. The next day he along with
another Polit
Bureau member M K Pandhe took meetings in the working class areas of
Solapur on
October 5 and Icharkaranji in Kolhapur
district on October 6. On the same day, Polit Bureau member Sitaram
Yechury
addressed rallies in Shahpur, Thane district, Iggatpuri, Dindori and
Nashik
city in Nashik district. He also spoke in Akole in Ahmed Nagar district
and
Andheri East, Mumbai on October 8.
Tripura
chief minister
and Polit Bureau member Manik Sarkar began his programme from Mumbai
where he
addressed a rally in Andheri East along with Central Committee member
Mohd
Salim. He also spoke in a big rally in Kalwal in Nashik district from
where
CPI(M) sitting MLA J P Gavit is seeking re-election. He also addressed
a rally
in Nashik city on the same day.
Polit
Bureau member
Brinda Karat addressed rallies in Pune on October 3, Iggatpuri and
Nashik city
on October 4, Ramtek in Nagpur district
and Devri
in Wardha district on October 7. The next day she spoke in Kinwat in
Nanded
district. Central Committee member Subhashini Ali addressed rallies in Sholapur and
Parbhani on
October 6.
