CPI(M)
Condemns Murderous Attack on Gurgaon Workers
The Communist Party of India (Marxist)
Haryana state
committee issued the following statement on October 20.
THE CPI(M) has strongly condemned the
murderous
attack by the goonda elements hired by the Ricoh management at Gurgaon
in which
one worker died and several others were seriously injured. In a press
note, Party
state secretary, Inderjit Singh has held the unholy nexus of labour
department,
the police and management totally responsible for the incident and such
a nexus,
he alleged , was operating due to state governments open bias towards
defaulting managements.
The party has blamed that pre planned violent
attack
on agitating workers dharna launched from inside the factory was not
only in
the knowledge of the police but was with its tacit approval. It has
further
accused the state government of systematically doing away with all
labour laws
and trade union rights.
While lending its total support to joint
protest by
trade unions and other organisations CPI(M) has demanded the government
to give
up its anti worker attitude and ensure immediate arrest of culprits and
conspirators,
adequate compensation to the aggrieved family of the deceased worker Ajit Yadav and those injured,
settlement of issues of the agitating workers and an end to police
repression.
