CPI(M) Wishes Good Health to Chávez

Prakash Karat, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent the following message to Commandante Hugo Chávez Frías, president, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on July 25, 2011

WE were deeply concerned to hear the news of your health problem. We are happy to hear that you have undergone treatment in Cuba and returned to Caracas recently. You have been working tirelessly to advance the Bolivarian revolutionary process in Venezuela. We admire your resolve to conquer your health problem and to continue serving the people and the State of Venezuela, which has just celebrated the 200^th anniversary of its independence.

We recall your visit to India in 2005 and the warm response that you have received from the people of our country especially in Kolkata.

I wish to convey the solidarity of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and all progressive forces in our country for your determined struggle to overcome your illness.

I wish you good health and all success in your endeavours in the coming days.
